Turn the maps, handouts, and art from your RPG PDFs into ready-to-use Foundry content — in minutes, not hours.
Bindery analyzes the layout of a PDF you own, shows you everything it found on a review screen, and creates nothing until you approve it. It works independently of game system and language.
- Classifies images in your PDF (maps, handouts, portraits)
- Auto-selects the likely useful ones; uncertain ones go to an "undecided" list for you to decide
- ~95% precision of auto-selection (measured on a 3-book reference set)
- Import as Scenes (e.g. full-page maps) or Journal Entry handouts
- Group images into journals
- Select & cut — drag a rectangle over any page to crop a custom image
- Background removal with a manual touch-up tool
- Four mask shapes
- Built-in or custom token frames
- Sharpening
- Nothing is imported without your approval
- Works only with files you own; does not bypass encryption or password protection
- Contains no publisher content
- Image detection is not perfect: ~85% of useful images are auto-selected or listed as undecided. Anything missed can be cropped manually with Select & cut.
- Background removal is semi-manual: areas fully enclosed by the subject need one click.
- Works on self-hosted Foundry and on The Forge . Other hosting providers have not been tested.
- Not in this release: Actor (stat block) import, random tables, items, spells, full-book text-to-journal.
Requires Foundry VTT v14 or later.
