The frost giants of the Hollow Mountain plan to use its power in a foul ritual, giving them the strength to spread their tyranny far and wide. To stop them, the barbarian clans of the Ashen Lands must be united, and a desperate assault must be made upon the Lords of the Hollow Mountain…This module is an adventure designed for a party of five level 7 characters, and takes them to level 8. It can plug easily into an existing campaign or be run as a short (4-6 sessions) standalone adventure.Additionally, this adventure also acts as Part III of the Star of Winter, a three-part campaign composed of separate adventure arcs. In this version of the tale, the characters are denizens of Kalmaar, the Dying World, and have been sent by their tribal elders to undertake a perilous journey through the frozen wastes of their planet, following the trail of a fallen star.The surrounding setting and overarching narrative of this campaign is fleshed out further in A Survivor’s Guide to the Frostwilds, a separate campaign book. None of these resources are necessary to run Lords of the Hollow Mountain as a standalone adventure.
