Light Presets adds one-click lighting presets to the scene lighting toolbar, working exactly like the core wall type buttons: click a preset, then drag to place. The active preset shows an indicator pip and persists between sessions.

Thirteen presets

Flame — bright core at half the dim radius

  • Candle — small warm flame with a quick low flicker. Bedside tables, shrines, and candelabra.
  • Torch — the classic wall sconce: strong warm light, lively flicker.
  • Lantern — steady warm glow, only a gentle flicker. A hooded lantern by a door.
  • Bullseye Lantern — a focused 60° beam. Drag to draw the cone, scroll while dragging to aim it.
  • Campfire — heavier flame in deep orange. Campfires, braziers, fireplaces.
  • Lava Glow — red-orange with a slow, heavy roil. Lava pools, forge hearts, embers.

Atmosphere — dim only, no bright core

  • Moonlight — pale blue-white, no animation. Windows at night, moonlit clearings, skylights.
  • Fog Bank — grey swirling haze at low luminosity, so it reads as atmosphere rather than a lamp.
  • Fey Lights — soft pink shimmer. Feywild groves, pixie swarms, enchanted gardens.
  • Ghostly — sickly green ghost-light flicker. Haunted halls and cursed shrines.

Radiant magic — soft 25% bright core

  • Magical Glow — violet pulse for enchanted crystals, runes, ambient arcane light.
  • Divine Radiance — warm golden sunburst. Altars, holy auras, consecrated ground.

Darkness

  • Magical Darkness — not a light but a darkness source: it carves magical gloom out of existing illumination. For darkness spells and cursed zones.

How it works

  • Every preset fully specifies its light configuration — color, animation, alpha, attenuation — so switching presets never inherits leftover values from the last one.
  • Bright/dim behaviour is applied live in the drag preview, not just on drop, so what you see while dragging is what you get.
  • Hovering a preset shows a tooltip describing the light and its exact settings.

Requirements

Foundry VTT V14 or later. Built on the V14 placeable palette system — system-agnostic, no dependencies, no external assets.
