Snow, Blood, and Bones
In Snow, Blood, and Bones, a level-3 Shadowdark adventure, the characters investigate the disappearance of some travelers and merchants on the North Road. The clues point to a road-house established suddenly in the past few weeks. When the characters arrive, they find a genial, charismatic innkeeper who boasts of his hospitality. Alas, the characters and the other patrons shall soon find that things are not what they seem in the Birchwood Hearth.
During the first night at the Birchwood Hearth, the characters are assailed by arcane forces that might split the party if they are not resilient enough. They soon encounter a dangerous dungeon under the tavern where a devilish entity, Krampus, tortures those he deems sinful. Many have perished under his birch rods but a few remain in the cells, ready to be rescued. The characters must have resolve, strength, and resourcefulness to stand a chance against this challenge.
