Mindscape Season 1: Hunger in the Bilge (DnD 5e)

A one-shot of necrotic uprising on haunted seas

When a fragment of an Abyssal temple materializes atop a forgotten sea cliff, Lord Bareon Rudd Drayl dispatches the warship, the Spear of the Coast to investigate. But what begins as a military reconnaissance soon spirals into a desperate fight for survival against an unseen zombiemancer hiding below deck.

Near the desolate rocks of Vayron’s Refuge, a black temple devoted to the Blood Queen Faeryl Myrryn has appeared where no structure stood before. The characters join Captain Treslo Marn and his crew to explore the ominous edifice, only to uncover signs of dark teleportation magic and a fiendish guardian known as Blorgzemo lurking within.

Yet the true horror does not remain on Blackstone Cliff. While blades clash in the altar chamber, the escaped wight lord Simeon Supploke infiltrates the warship, hiding in the bilge as he prepares a silent coup.

What follows is a claustrophobic descent into chaos: sailors turning into ravenous plague zombies, barricaded cabins filled with fear and suspicion, infected crewmates begging for mercy, and a desperate race to reclaim magical feather tokens needed to call reinforcements.

This adventure blends dungeon exploration with naval survival horror, forcing players to choose between stealth and steel, compassion and pragmatism. The undead are many. Resources are few. And somewhere in the dark, a zombiemancer watches through the eyes of the dead.
