Between the solitary columns, engraved with religious motifs, a large stone altar stands, dedicated to a peculiar divinity even the party’s cleric may not recognize. There, amidst simple offerings, barely lit by the dying lights of a hundred candles, a silhouette stands up, visibly disturbed in the expression of their devotion. Were they pleading for mercy?
