Automatic Walls Tool for Foundry VTT

Dungeon Channel just released an awesome new tool that will automatically generate walls for your custom maps. This tool is designed especially for cartographers and works by uploading a layout of your map with either the floor or the walls in a solid color which shouldn’t take long if you created the map. However this will still be useful for everyone who has basic knowledge in image editing.

With this method you can have a fully walled map for Foundry VTT, Roll20 or Fantasy Grounds in only seconds. Additional VTTs will likely be added in the future as well as improvements to the generated files since the tool is in active development. You can watch the short YouTube video to better understand how it works.

Even though cartographers and map creators will benefit the most from this tool, anyone can take advantage of it to reduce the time it takes to trace large maps from potentially hours to just a couple of minutes. You will need to subscribe to their Patreon at the Dungeon Architect or higher to use it.

Note

The Automatic Wall tool will be free for anyone to try out over the weekend until the 10th of May. The Dungeon Channel Patreon is also currently offering a discount of two free months for annual subscriptions for the next week.

The Rollsmith – A new digital dice workshop for Foundry

You are now able to extend your dice buying addiction to the digital space. The Rollsmith is a new service launched by the co-author of the Dice So Nice! module and his 3D artist friend to bring you new high quality dice designs to Foundry.

For the moment there are only two collections available: a wooden one with four and a marble one with eleven different colored sets. More are planned to come out soon. If you have ideas for new dice sets head over to The Rollsmith Discord. They are actively looking for new designs.

Isometrics Module by grape_juice Public Release

The widely teased Isometrics Module from grape_juice has gotten it’s first public release today. In case you don’t know what it is or have never heard about it before this module’s main feature is implementing a fully isometric grid canvas to Foundry VTT allowing you play your sessions in the style of beloved old school video game RPGs.

That’s not all, the developer has put much thought into what features you would need to have an awesome experience. Such as adding tiles to wall types so they can disappear or change the alpha level when a token is behind it or you enter a room. There is a pretty good video by azathought explaining the features in detail. It also comes with free assets from five different creators: Isometric Worlds, Two Brave Puffins, CinderLight, The Iso Explorer, and VividAdventureMaps.

This is a stable release which means it has been playtested and will support the latest stable version of Foundry. If you are a supporter on Patreon you get Early Access releases. Those releases are where the support for the coming 0.8.x Foundry releases will be fleshed out and new features will be tested. New features currently in testing are a Photoshop like tile layer, mask drawing, auto walling and many more.
